CTFd was created as a response to the challenges faced during CTF organization.
Built on Flask, it was designed to be simple, powerful, and open source - ideal for both small groups and large competitions.
On January 1st, 2015, CTFd was released as an open-source project, allowing the global CTF community to benefit from and contribute to its development. It quickly gained popularity as the go-to platform for CTF organizers.
To meet the demands of larger organizations, we launched our hosted solution. This fully managed service simplified challenge deployment and event management, making CTFd accessible to even more users.
Recognizing the needs of larger organizations, we introduced the Enterprise Plan. This included new game types, individualized infrastructure, and enhanced support, making CTFd even more versatile.
CTFd continues to innovate with constant updates, new features, and community-driven enhancements. We're dedicated to empowering organizers to host engaging, secure, and scalable CTF events worldwide.
